Lost in Transmission
Norbotten Museum, Lulea, Sweden - 2011
A project that investigates with possible misinterpretations of certain human aspects. Revealing through hidden layers of middle-eastern women, beyond social filters on one hand, and inherited misconception and orientalist stereotyping by international media on the other.
Project is composed of a 6 min. 45 sec. film, that mixes video documentation of daily life aspects and occasional rituals with animated surrealist fantasies, projected on a barrier surface, inspired by the Islamic Oriel windows. And 8 (90 x 50 cm) digitally manipulated photographs installed in space.
"Lost in transmission" is exhibited at the Norbotten Museum, Lulea, Sweden. As part of Lulea Art Biennial "LAB 11", organized by the Kilen Art Group.
