Joyride is a video installation, featuring cinematic renders of a virtual CGI environment, in the nature of time-lapse footage that captures a recurring incident, in different iterations from multiple angles and at different frame rates. Thus, what could be collectively interpreted as a devastating car crash in “real time”, could also be perceived as numerous joyous instances; moments of defying gravity and observing the scenery while suspended in the air, moments reminiscent of a joyride in an amusement park. The project offers an invitation to contemplate the state of suspension of events “relatively”, one instance at a time.
